Finals 11th Edition Favela Soccer Competition

Sunday June 28st, Sampaio and region celebrate the finals of the eleventh edition of the Copa Sampaio Futebol de Favela. The semi finalists of this competition are Juventude, Céu Azul, Mixto and Jamaica.

This year, the battle between the semi-finalists is heating the atmosphere more than ever. A new champion will beat Geração (from Favela Matriz), who was winner of the last two finals. This means that we will proudly announce the new winners of the Copa Sampaio Futebol de Favela next sunday.

Who has been a frequent visitor of the field, has noticed that the soccer competitions held at the “Campo do Sampaio” soccer field are expanding very fast. Teams of all regions of Rio de Janeiro want to participate and wait in line for new subscriptions. The Sundays are crowded with visitors and family of the players and meanwhile the kids are cooling down in the swimming pool.

June 28 the finals of male adults in the age range of 18 until 35 take place, but soon after the competitions for youth until 18 will start. For those who didn’t know yet, Sampaio is one of the few areas of Rio de Janeiro represented by a very strong female soccer team.
